Who currently holds the world record largest water balloon fight?
According to Guinness World Records, the University of Kentucky set the record in 2011 with 8,957 participants, and 175,141 water balloons. However, they broke their own record last year with 11,622 participants. This summer the competition has heated up as Water Wars-Atlanta and the University of Kentucky are also attempting to break the world record. Come on Seattle, we can do this!

How can I help?
We need volunteers to help fill more than 300,000 water balloons! All volunteers will receive commemorative shirts and be entered into a contest for a new iPad 2 along with several other prizes. Please sign up here
What is the price?
The cost is $25/person. Be a kid for a day, help a kid for life… yeah it’s a fundraiser.
When and where is this world record going down?
August 17th, 2013 at Seattle Center’s International Fountain & Fisher Plaza. 305 Harrison St. Seattle, WA
Can I bring my own water balloons?
No, all water balloons will be provided for participants. No one will be allowed into the venue with their own water balloons.
Can I bring a water balloon launcher? Catapult? Sling shot? Cannon?
For the safety of all participants, water balloon launchers of any kind are strictly prohibited from the event. Throwing water balloons is what true warriors do.
My cousin is from Kentucky, can he come?
Sure, if he wants to beat his own states record.
Am I going to get hurt?
As with any athletic activity there is also the risk of injury. All participants must sign a disclaimer and liability waiver before entering the venue. Eye protection is encouraged, but not required.
Where do I park?
There are multiple options. Right in front of Memorial Stadium is a large paid parking lot; there are also multiple parking garages for Seattle Center. For complete list and pricing, click here. Since we are also an eco-friendly centric city we also recommend: taking the King County Metro, biking, walking…heck run there if you want!
Will there be beverages and food at the event?
There will a beer garden inside the venue and a cornucopia of food trucks will be on hand just outside of the venue. Additionally, the Center House located next door has a multitude of bars and restaurants
