Polyrhythmics: Original hard-driving, modern afro-beat and syncopated, horn-driven funk. That is the recipe that Polyrhythmics have crafted and delivered to packed clubs, and festival crowds up and down the west coast in the past 3 years. The 8 members of this dynamic world-beat orchestra, weave a clever web of deep, hypnotic grooves, creative, yet melodic interplay, clever horn-hooks, and searing solos that ignite every dance-floor that has laid before them.

Funky 2 Death Many bands look down their nose at anyone that tries to pigeon hole at what they perceive is their unique sound. In 2012 if there’s one thing that never changes, it’s that music continues to evolve, divide and sub-divide genre’s in to slivers of even more sub-genre’s.

F2D brings one of music’s original genre’s and reminds you of how funk and soul have helped shape American culture as we know it. F2D doesn’t hide the fact that funk and soul is the very foundation of what they are and has shaped their sound because they know that there’s one thing that doesn’t change, the very foundation of American music.

F2D gives you a big welcome to their brand of American roots. It makes you move. You can’t help it. It’s almost involuntary. With influences like the incomparable Parliament/Funkadelic, Motown, Stax Records, Jimi Hendrix, Curtis Mayfield, James Brown, Lyn Collins, Bobby Byrd, Morris Day and The Time.

This is the debut performance of Secret Society, a Seattle-based funk band. We’d say more… but we’re sworn to secrecy.

My husband is nothing but hip hop and rap guy and I want to show him how incredibly good other types of music can be. I really think he would be blown away by these performers. I don’t think he would choose to go to this on his own if I didn’t take him. Would love to win and expose him to something fun and new. And as he might say afterwards “DOPE”

I was only recently introduced to Polyrythmics, the first time I saw them live was for the last party thrown at The Warehouse in Fremont. Hell of a time! And they blew my mind! Such a unique sound this band has, and the energy they bring out in the crowd is insane! I’ve had the chance to see them 3 times now since September and I’m hooked. Very quickly becoming my favorite local band to jam out too :)
