Hailed on numerous “top 10 places to celebrate Oktoberfest in the world” lists, Fremont Oktoberfest takes over two entire city blocks in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood – the “Center of the Universe” – September 20-22, 2013.

“It’s Fremont Oktoberfest,” says Creative Director Phil Megenhardt. “So we add an eccentric Fremont-twist to this famous tradition. That’s why we stand out. We have a huge lineup of award-winning microbrews to go beyond traditional German beer, we give a nod to the German “oompah” bands but favor popular local rock bands, and we even have Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving!”

Featuring the biggest beer garden in the Northwest, Fremont Oktoberfest has over 100 craft and microbrews for guests to taste with their 5oz mini-steins, and for the traditionalists, full liter steins for German beers are available in the Buxom Beer Garden. “Autumn brings an abundance of seasonal beer flavors that we can’t wait to showcase,” says Megenhardt.

The all-ages family-friendly Village features food trucks, Kids’ Area, Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving, Sunday Dogtoberfest, and its own Village Beer Garden. It is also the finish line for the Fremont Oktoberfest 5K, playfully referred to as “the Ultimate Beer Run.”

“Tens of thousands of people come raise a toast and celebrate in the streets of Fremont,” says Megenhardt. “We’re number one in the universe. Seattle’s fall tradition is not to be missed!”

Tickets to the Fremont Oktoberfest Tasting Garden are available now, $20 and up for guests 21 and over. The Fremont Oktoberfest Village is free and all-ages.

Fremont Oktoberfest is produced by Bold Hat Productions, and is a benefit for the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, funding local schools, art groups, community events, and promoting Fremont as the “Center of the Universe.” More information can be found at FremontSeattle.com.

I would love to attend because Fremont Oktoberfest gets beyond the usual selection of seasonal beers. In addition to the outstanding Oktoberfest beers, there are pumpkin and fruity ales, stouts, and other inventive brews. The variety is top-notch, and you can’t ask for a much better setting.

    Thanks for your consideration!

  10. Mike W. September 12, 2013 at 10:34 am #

So many beers, so little time. I’d love the chance to try some beers I’ve never tasted while listening to great music. And I definitely want to watch the chainsaw pumpkin carving.

  30. Evonne September 13, 2013 at 3:21 pm #

This would be my first Oktoberfest where I can enjoy all the beer-related festivities!

Winning tickets would be so exhilarating and would make up for my birthday falling on Thanksgiving last year which made for a pretty lousy 21st birthday.

Please let me revel in the excellent selection of Seattle’s delicious micro-brews while celebrating!

  31. Jessica September 13, 2013 at 3:54 pm #

I have to go because the Fish Brewing company is badass! They are going to be featuring Spire Mountain Dark & Dry Cider and if i don’t try it I will turn into a pumpkin:( Please don’t let me turn into a pumpkin!!!!

  32. Lauren September 15, 2013 at 9:06 pm #

Just moved to Seattle with my boo, and eager to dive headfirst into the Fremont festivities! I’m a poor grad student too, and if that isn’t a profession that needs free beer, I don’t know what is!!!

  33. Laura September 15, 2013 at 9:45 pm #

There once was a chick with no beer
In need of some October cheer
    For some reason she won
    Two free tickets for fun
And now she can drink without fear!

  34. Jason September 15, 2013 at 9:50 pm #

Taking a cute girl on our first date. Nothing spells true love like free beer!

  35. Peaches September 16, 2013 at 11:56 am #

In the grand tradition of It’s Always Sunny, I promise to to go Oktoberfest dressed as GREEN MAN! (http://www.blogcdn.com/www.aoltv.com/media/2009/10/sunnycostume200-100209.jpg)

I’m pretty sure I can drink *through* the costume. At least I’m willing to try!
