PUBLISH THE QUEST
Publish The Quest is an 7 member band that blends groove music melodies with vocally driven compositions that seem to continually question social issues through story telling. Songwriter Jacob Bain started Publish The Quest to record The Threads in 2008. As a result of that experience, a team of passionate people that have come together to form a strong bond, and a band that is serious about keeping feet moving, bodies shaking, and minds engaged!
Their second album, Then What !?, which was produced and recorded by Mell Dettmer, features Femi Kuti, Matt Chamberlain, Eyvind Kang, and Radioactive. They also released a single after a trip to the Cape Verde Islands in 2010, of the song Sodade. While the six-man band uses Seattle as base camp, a trio version of the band has also been playing gigs that are further away from home, like in Zimbabwe and Tanzania.
The theorem of turntablist as musician has been long proven in the capable hands of DJ LOGIC, whom with jazz as his foundation has become a wax innovator by crossing genres and sprinkling his sound across the map. As one of the world’s most accomplished turntablists, DJ LOGIC is widely credited for introducing jazz into the hip – hop realms and is considered by most as a highly respected session musician and an innovative bandleader.
Since his emergence in the early nineties amidst the Bronx hip-hop scene, the New York City based deejay has been amassing a veritable mountain of collaborations ranging from the likes of: Medeski Martin And Wood, Christian Mcbride, Vernon Reid, Charlie Hunter, Jack Dejohnette, John Mayer, Ben Harper, Mos Def and The Roots, to name but a few.
