Double Indemnity (1944). In 35 mm, 106 min.

Some you can’t trust; others would take a bullet for you. They’ve got bedroom eyes and mink coat appetites, a purse full of wisecracks and a pearl-handled revolver, and they’re the fast-beating heart of film noir. We celebrate the 35th anniversary of the world’s longest-running film noir series, and the upcoming exhibition Elles: Women Artists from the Centre Pompidou, Paris, with a salute to some of the most powerful female characters, and actresses, to ever scorch the silver screen.

Top Pot Doughnuts will provide a feast of black and white doughnuts immediately following the opening night film, Double Indemnity, on September 27. SAM’s TASTE Restaurant will custom-mix a cocktail for each film in the series and make them available before and after each screening.
