The American Lung Association celebrates 30 years of cycling in Washington with its inaugural Ride Around the Sound bicycle ride on September 15 - a fantastic century ride around the scenic Puget Sound.
Experience the picturesque beauty of Puget Sound from the seat of your bicycle. See eagles soar overhead and watch orca whales play in the bay as we take you on this wonderful ride around the Puget Sound – all while benefiting the American Lung Association in Washington.
For over 100 years the American Lung Association has fought lung disease and worked for clean air. With lung disease on the rise, we are funding research that will find a cure for tomorrow. We are fighting for lungs that burn from exercise rather than from air pollution. We are fighting for education to help children manage their asthma. We are fighting for laws that improve air quality both inside and out. We are fighting to keep tobacco out of the hands of our youth. And we won’t breathe easy until we win the fight.

Ride Around the Sound is a one day bike ride to raise money for the American Lung Association.
Proceeds benefit The American Lung Association. For over 100 years, the American Lung Association has led the fight for healthy lungs and healthy air. We are the leading organization working to save lives, improve lung health and prevent lung disease through research, education and advocacy.

Ride Around the Sound is a fully supported, signature bicycle tour. Multiple distance options make this event perfect for all ages and abilities. Ride Around the Sound showcases the natural majestic beauty of Puget Sound with sweeping views and forays through the quaint communities hugging the water.
Over half of the ride boasts views of Puget Sound, and the route is lined with lighthouses, marinas and wildlife. You will ride through beautiful forests, around coves and inlets, past picturesque hamlets and across the soaring Tacoma Narrows Bridge. After traversing the Kitsap Peninsula, views of Mt Rainier loom over the Sound on the relaxing ferry ride back to the finish line party.
Rest stops are an average of every 15 miles and are well equipped with delicious food, water, electrolytes, medical and mechanical aid. The courses are well marked with easy-to-follow bold markings.
