The fifth annual Live Aloha Hawaiian Cultural Festival will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 11am-7pm at Seattle Center’s Center House, Mural Amphitheater and Fisher Rooftop! This year’s festival will feature two stages of entertainment, Hawaiian crafts and goods for sale, ono local Hawaiian food favorites and shave ice, Hawaiian lei making workshops, keiki activities and more!

We have are excited to announce that KAPENA will be our headliner for Live Aloha! It’s going to be quite the 5th Anniversary!! Be there!

Live Aloha Hawaiian Cultural Festival, Sunday, Septempter 9, celebrates the 50th anniversary of the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair. Explore and experience the cultural roots and contemporary influences ofHawai`ithrough live performances, visual arts, hands-on activities, foods, games, a commemorative lei workshop, and a lively marketplace. The festival provides a feast for the senses as visitors journey through the sights, sounds and tastes of Hawaii.

Join many of the over 50,000 Hawaiian Islanders who call Washington State their home as they share their homeland’s colorful history through performances of music and dance. Highlights of Live Aloha”s Next 50 activities include:Celebrate the Next 50 by participating in the 50th Anniversary commemorative Lei-making workshop specially tagged to remember the date.  Other highlights include renowned headliner, Kapena from the island of Oahu. This  award-winning group sings both traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music.

In addition, there will be a special exhibit about the Hawaiian presence and Hawaiian Pavilion at the 1962 World&qout;s Fair with photographs, programs and people to share their stories and the history of Hawaii.
